スタンダード聴き比べ「Summertime」

Summertimeと言えば、アメリカ音楽の代表的作曲家George Gershwin作曲の
オペラ「ポーギーとベス」の劇中歌です。

1935年に初演された　このオペラは1920年代の貧しくも、希望を持って生きる
黒人コミュニティをリアルに描いたもので、1935年に「オール黒人キャスト」
で初演されたそうです。

漁夫ジェイクの女房クララが、暑苦しい夏の夜に赤ん坊を抱きながら、
豊かな夏の生活を夢見つつ歌うブルースの子守唄。
